I face planted into bed last night at 9. I had every intention of cracking open my lap top again to cross a few more things off my list but my better judgement put a full stop to that ridiculousness. Meh, it was right.

When I’m in Italy I’m more insulated from the news that comes out of the States. Partly because of the time difference, but also because the madness of my country feels so far away. It would be easy to bury my head and think only about food and wine. Believe me, I want to. Especially because when someone dies we all know, but don’t actually know, or when a national tragedy happens I often don’t know what to say.

Rome was of course a great idea last weekend. We shot some music videos on the street like maniacs using the Triller app. Then proceeded to a speakeasy hidden behind a cabinet in the back of Osteria delle Coppelle. FYI-the bathroom is behind the bookcase, just pull the knob.

It’s been a hot minute and finally I’ve made my way back to Rome for the weekend. I’ve missed her. It used to just be the city, herself, but now she’s filled with friends I love and adore. I went right to Trastevere for breakfast with Maria, followed closely with sushi and Franciacorta with Jonathon and Annie in Studio Navona. I’m pretty much in Eternal City heaven.
