Three Things — The Feel Good Series

Three Things, my Wednesday post series, inspired by my love for bite-sized, tiny but mighty pieces of information.

One. This —

I am not a yoga-goer. But I continue to do it a couple times of year to check in with myself as if to say “Hey, do we like this?” Each time it’s a no go for me. But this type of yoga? Whoa! Just watching this clip puts me in a trance. I envision my back melting into my hammock perch and liquifying as I swing back and forth. It’s mesmerizing.

Two. “The Perfect Pairing” —

The United States wastes 72 billion pounds of perfectly good food each year. Jasmine Crowe, the CEO of Goodr, developed an app based system for restaurant owners to donate this extra food in real time to members of the community who have a huge need for food. Brava, Jasmine! The owners get real time feedback and pictures of people enjoying food that would otherwise go to waste resulting in the strengthening of the whole community. Win-win-win to infinity.

Three. Follow This. —

I’m picky about the news I consume. For example, I never watch the President speak. Not a news snippet, a “rally”, none of it. However, I will read it in text format or watch a video with subtitles with the sound off. I also stock my social media newsfeeds with organizations who are reporting the goodness in life, rather than all the tragedy. A few of my favorites are Upworthy, Humans of New York for a dose of human spirit, and Goalcast for uplifting true tales that make me want to go out and do all the things.

And you, what are your favorites?
