Whaddya Doing This Weekend?

I’m going to be writing all weekend and working on some project stuff. And listen, I know you’re not surprised, but it’s still 95% humidity down here in Charleston. I want to throw my computer (not really) just writing that little, hot, factoid.

Yesterday marked the beginning of a six week period, that for me, is ripe with action. Yesterday was my old wedding anniversary, which I wrote about here. My birthday is coming up in November, the day after mine is Mimmo’s (the best boyfriend in all the land), and the day after Mimmo’s is the birthday of the man I used to be married to. The man that died on Thanksgiving Day twelve years ago. Wheeeewwwwwww.

I tell you this because I want you to know, in spite of all the historic happenings, this is still hands down my favorite time of year. The leaves, the chill in the air, and the boots. The new beginnings and the crack of a new notebook. And the growth. Holy smokes this time of year kicked off the life lesson to end all. And it was my responsibility to learn from it. And learn I did.

As the calendar moves through the next days and weeks I’ll be right there, marking my time. Soaking up the best of the season.

How are you marking the season? A big family gathering? Preparations for Halloween? Already holiday shopping? What about you guys, what are you up to?

__________

Whatever you have going on, I’ve gathered the latest musing from around the web for your weekend reading.

The couple that submerged themselves in a neighbor’s pool to survive the California wild fires was touching in a variety of ways. This quote really stuck with me,”To stay warm, they held each other. They stood back to back. They spoke about their deep love for each other and their family.”

This chest wrinkle product is all news to me. You?

Two podcasts to talk about: 1. Binged listened already to this one. GOOD. As in very. 2. This one is full of real talk covering uncomfortable and real topics. Exactly my jam.
