What’s Going on This Weekend?

I’ve never really had a specific way I spend the 4th of July weekend. It’s one of those holidays I’m happy going with the flow. But this year I’m flying back home. It’s funny, I haven’t lived there in over 20 years, but it’s the landscape of my youth I associate with the 4th.

Barbecues, fireworks, running with your friends in a sweaty, laughing group as the sun drops and the crowd gathers, excited to see the firework display the township saved up all year for. From snow cones to my Mom’s hand shaken lemonade this is the stuff of red, white, and blue and summer time celebrations.

How fitting I’m going back for it. I can’t wait to see a lightening bug. It’s been years.

What about you guys, how are you celebrating? I’ve gathered the latest musing from around the web for your weekend reading.

Breakfast board goals. I have become obsessed with making beautiful charcuterie boards for our visitors and also for us at home any old time. I make a mean snack in general and this breakfast board is next level. What do you think, are you going to be whipping one of these up?

Speaking of snacks, one of the best charcuterie boards I’ve seen Stateside can be found at Goat. Sheep. Cow. here in Charleston. The two ladies behind this genius created a veritable European Oasis and I love them for it.

Bypass the rookie steps in Rome with these 7 tips from Architectural Digest. As I tell my friends who ask, “Sure you can order a cappuccino in the afternoon, but then you must be ok with rookie status.” Me? I’m not.

I’m in the middle of this book and it’s so damn interesting. All about our purpose in this life it helps you discover the archetypes that may be influencing who you and how you can tap into them.

I have been washing my hair lately with Rose 31 from Le Labo. Although this particular fragrance isn’t my most favorite of theirs, it is a very dear love of mine. The scent I catch when I turn my head quickly makes me short of breath, that’s how much I love it.

Ciao for Now!
