Listen. The U.S. has wildfires, ash raining down, and Irma about to give us a serious beating. Blah. Having lived in Florida during the 2005 hurricane season (the year of Katrina, Wilma, Rita) and being without utilities for two weeks, I know what do.

Get the hell out of dodge, that’s what. Friends, I live right down by the water in Charleston (hello flooding) and I do not want to deal with the mess that is the aftermath of a big ole storm. Plus, I have a writing deadline for Monday morning. Priorities.
